Best Big island Wedding Planners
Founding Gals.jpg

We were truly blessed when our life events converged and we were able to realize our dream of Swept Away Island Weddings & Events. We could not create dream Hawaii weddings without the diversified strengths of each other. Each of the “gals” plays a critical role in the design, imagining and coordination of the events that we manage and the result is a Swept Away day.

Get to know your team and check out our bios below. It sure is nice to meet you!

Big Island Wedding Coordinator

Ashley moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2006 when she joined the wedding team at the Fairmont Orchid Hawaii. As their wedding manager, she sold and operated more weddings than any other planner on the Kohala Coast in 2012. As a valuable member of the Big Island’s wedding community she has established invaluable relationships with Hawaii’s top event professionals

Ashley immediately puts her clients at ease and her transparent and open nature has made her one of the most effective planners on the Island. A natural artist with an eye for design, she completed her education at Pacific University with a degree in Integrated Media and a double emphasis in Art and Marketing.

Tiffany DeCosta Hawaii Island Wedding Coordinator

Tiffany made the Big Island her home in 2009 when she realized that she couldn’t live without her now-husband whom she met earlier that year in the city that never sleeps—Las Vegas. It’s apparent that the adage “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” does not always apply… and we are happy for that!

Tiffy attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa and although she studied nursing, she discovered that her true passion is event planning. Tiffy is our go-to style girl. With a love for all things pretty, she has impeccable taste and infinite patience for scouring the internet and perusing popular publications for the most current trends and fashion. Priding herself on being two steps ahead of the "fashion curve" she balances fresh details while valuing timeless and classical elements. We call her our “Visionary Busy Bee” because she always offers unexpected details that take an event from memorable to unforgettable.

Amber was born and raised on the Hilo side of the Big Island and has a passion for seamlessly marrying her "local girl" style and personality with all things global—something she brings to every event she plans.

She has a background in hospitality and design, and an enthusiasm for making everyone she meets feel like they're lifelong gal pals. She attended Loyola Marymount University and studied both Psychology and Travel and Tourism Operations, before getting her toes wet in the architectural design field. She uses all of these skills as a globe-trotting flight attendant and as the owner and designer of her own boutique jewelry line. With her innate talents and long-time love of planning and design, the stars aligned when she began consulting on events with the gals of SAE.

Amber and her high school sweetheart took the plunge and eloped 15 awesome years ago and have 3 hilarious kids to show for it. A true local girl, you can most often find her with her family at the beach.

A BIG MAHALO to Julie Harmsen of Julie Harmsen Photography for capturing these shots of the Swept Away Gals at beautiful Anna Ranch in Waimea, Hawaii. We LOVED her casual and relaxed style. We had so much fun that we almost forgot that we were taking pictures!
